As a response to, Victor Burgin’s, Some Cities I wanted to create a simple video showing my personal experience of interacting with my local area. I hope to highlight the challenges I face while attempting to reclaim my place in the public space, including the potential obstacles that are posed by others and their attitudes towards their surroundings. By sharing my own experience from a first-person perspective, as a woman navigating the public space I aim to shed light on the gender-specific challenges and biases that don’t go unnoticed, but should be spoken about more.
